Back in 2019, Mama Dahlia, Nicole, and I (Rachel) began a small dream right from our home — to create beautiful things that bring joy to others. Every sign and piece of home décor we make is filled with love, care, and creativity.

Over time, our little business has grown and blossomed in ways we never imagined, and we feel incredibly blessed. While we may look like a big-box operation, it’s really just the three of us — three passionate women doing what we love every single day.

HOW WE GOT STARTED

The story of Backyard Dahlia began with our shared love for creativity and a desire to bring beauty into people’s homes. What started as a simple hobby quickly turned into something much more. As we refined our craft, we saw the joy our personalized, handmade signs and decor brought to others, and word began to spread.

We decided to turn our passion into a business, starting small from our home. With the support of family, friends, and our community, what was once a side project blossomed into a full-fledged business.

From the beginning, our goal has been to create meaningful pieces that bring warmth and charm to homes. Every item we make is crafted with care, and we’re proud to be part of so many special moments.

MEET MAMA DAHLIA!

Linda, lovingly known as Mama Dahlia, is the creative soul behind every brushstroke. Born with a natural gift for painting, she pours her heart, energy, and a whole lot of magic into every piece she creates. Her work is all about the details—because it’s in those tiny, thoughtful touches where the real beauty lives.

She’s always looking for new ways to elevate her work, whether it’s refining a design or adding something unexpected to make it truly one of a kind.

Every piece is made with care, intention, and the hope that it brings a little extra joy to your space.

MEET OUR SOCIALITE!

Nicole is the heart behind our social media and the friendly face you’ll often see popping up in our lives. She lives for connecting with our amazing community—whether she's sharing styling tips, packing up your happy mail, or brainstorming fresh, fun ways to add charm to your home. Full of personality, bursting with ideas, and always up for a good chat, she loves making your space feel even more special.

When she’s not in the shop, Nicole is off adventuring with her two boys, hitting the gym, or indulging in some of her favorite pastimes—shopping, fashion, and makeup. After work, you’ll find her cozied up with a good book or planning her next fun adventure.

MEET OUR JACK-OF-ALL TRADES!

Lastly we have Rachel, our multi-talented powerhouse! She's the creative mind behind our 3D sign designs, the artist responsible for crafting the adorable gnomes loved by all, and the one who sews custom pieces to add that perfect touch to your home. Rachel also handles all the behind-the-scenes magic of the business. A night owl at heart, she stays up late crafting unique treasures just for you—think of her as our little elf, dedicated to creating fun, joy-filled items that bring a smile to your face!

Outside the shop, Rachel spends time with her husband and daughters. Whether it's canning, gardening, baking, or fishing, she’s a jack-of-all-trades, doing it all with love and dedication.
